General Manager

 

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 Commensurate with Experience, plus Incentive Bonus Potential up to 15% of salary

Work Modality: In Office

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Saturday

Location: Wooster, Ohio

Ideal Experience:

  • This position is responsible for all aspects of the operation, including fleet management and overseeing your location team. The ideal candidate will have previous Transportation industry experience, with a hospitality focus also being a top asset.
  • Progressive management experience with front-line team oversight
  • Established experience with scheduling and payroll is a plus

Skills and Abilities we are searching for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Three (3) years of related experience in a Paratransit, Fixed Route, or Demand Response environment.  
  • Ability to work varying schedule as assigned, which may include weekends, late nights, early mornings, and holidays. 
  • You are a motivated individual willing to take on new challenges, with management experience in the Parking, Customer Service, and/or Hospitality Industries. 
  • You are a “roll-up-the-sleeves and get-stuff-done” type of person who is organized, honest and thoughtful.

  • You are self-sufficient, resourceful and decisive.

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, and ADP

As General Manager, you will:

  • Works closely with the City of Wooster to ensure the vision of the Transit Service meets or exceeds expectations  
  • Provides oversight and support to Transit Operators, Dispatchers, Operations Supervisors and Vehicle Maintenance.  
  • May be required to dispatch service, accept trip reservations, and drive in service when required. 
  • Ensures department staffing requirements are being met, and schedule coverage during all hours of operation is being handled efficiently.  
  • Approves employee time off and vacations. Ensures coverage during the absence of employees.   
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance. 
  • Assists with passenger and vehicle related incidents, including breakdowns and accidents.  
  • Enforces employee attendance policy.  
  • Conducts employee mentoring, coaching, re-training, discipline, and terminations as required. 
  • Maintains daily operating assignments for Operations Dispatchers and Field Supervisors.  
  • Continuously improves service quality by gathering reports and performance data. 
  • Maintains control of all logs and paperwork submitted by staff for review.  
  • Ensures compliance with federal (FTA) drug & alcohol testing requirements, USDOT and ODOT standards  
  • Assists with the hiring of new employees. 
  • Creates and plans shift schedule, service stops and routes in coordination with the City 
  • Directs customer comment resolution in a timely response.  
  • Ensures performance targets are being met or exceeded.  
  • Develop and train supervisor and line-level employees.
  • Review and approve work schedules to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing expenses.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relations and attend client meetings.
  • Assist supervisor in handling customer complaints and day-to-day operational issues
  • Manage and submit employee, operations, and payroll reports
  • Oversee the customer service program to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop budgets and monitor financials to meet business goals.
  • Review and evaluate audits to ensure integrity of revenue control.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as those of our client.
  • Respond to operational issues when needed (at times, after normal business hours).
  • Maintain the highest professional and ethical standards for both our organization and our client.
